The Mauritius Sports Council in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth Empowerment, Sports & Recreation and under the Sponsorship of Panagora Marketing Co. Ltd organized the Talk on Yoplait/ Candia Sports Medicine at R. C. Nuckchady Government School, Rose Hill on Thursday 29th October 2020

The main objective of the talk is to make the students aware of the benefits of Sports, how physical activities and a good nutrition for maintaining a good and a healthy life.

During the talk, quiz competition related to the talk was conducted among students where two students of Grade 6 won the quiz and were awarded a T- Shirt.
The talk ended at 10 30 hours where Pamphlets on Sports Medicine, Candia milk and Keyrings were distributed to all students.

Sports Equipment (Soft Balls, Skipping Ropes, Tennis balls, Hoola Hoops and Footballs), Ice Box and First Aid Kit were offered to the School by the Mauritius Sports Council, same sponsored by Panagora Marketing Co. Ltd.

The objectives of the talks are to make the participants aware of the benefits of Sports, proper physical activities, and a good nutrition for maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

The Importance of Physical Activities & Good Nutrition were presented by Mr. Conrad Thomas.
50 participants attended the talk.
Pamphlets and Candia Milk were distributed to all participants.
A quiz was held with questions related to the talks on Sports Medicine at the end of the programme. Four participants correctly answered the questions and were offered a T-Shirt as price.

The Importance of Physical Activities and Good Nutrition was presented by Mr. Conrad Thomas.
There were 77 participants attended the talk.
Yoplait/Candia Pamphlets, Keyrings and Candia Milk were distributed to all participants.
A quiz was held with questions related to the talk at the end of the programme.
Four participants correctly answered the questions. They were offered a T-Shirt of Candia as gift.

On Tuesday 18th August 2020, the Pamplemousses Youth Center organized the National Youth Civic Service sessions at the University of Mascareignes. The title of the seminar was “Challenges facing Youth today”. It was an interactive session.
As usual, the objectives of the talks are to make the participants aware of the benefits of Sports, proper physical activities, and a good nutrition for maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

• 103 participants attended the talk comprising of 56 Boys and 47 Girls.
During the talk, a quiz related to the talk was conducted among students where four students of Grade 6 won the quiz and were awarded a T- Shirt.The talk ended at 10 45 hours where Pamphlets on Sports Medicine, Candia milk and Keyrings were distributed to all students.

The YOP Athletes Award, sponsored by PANAGORA MARKETING CO. LTD., is a quarterly prize giving ceremony reserved for athletes aged 16 and above who have achieved   outstanding performances during a particular month.

 

Exceptionally, not being able to organize this ceremony earlier, taken by the organization of the National Sports Award 2019 last February 2020 and by the containment caused by the presence of the COVID 19 pandemic on our territory, during this ceremony, we have rewarded the athletes of the month of November 2019, that of February and March 2020.

On behalf of MSC, they offered to the Winners: a Trophy and a cheque worth Rs. 4,000.-

The children of the NGO « Mouvement Bien Être de Cite la Chaux » presented us two interludes that put a lot of balm in the hearts of the assistance:

  • A song and dance « Corona Bayaboo »

He practices horseback riding.

He participated in the National Show Jumping Competition at the Club Hippique de Floréal.

In the 1m10 / 1m20 category with 5 participants he won the Silver medal.

He has participated, at the National Level, in the VITAL Cross-country.

In the Senior category, with 26 participants, he won the Gold medal.

Miss Oumehani Tayyebah HOSENALLY(living abroad – she was represented by the DTN Mr. Cédric ROULEAU)

 

She is a Table Tennis champion.

She participated in the ITTF WORLD JUNIOR CIRCUIT CONGO DEMOCRATIC JUNIOR & CADET OPEN which was held in the Democratic CONGO, in the JUNIOR category; 10 countries took part in this tournament; with 24 participants in this category she won Silver in Singles, Gold in Doubles and Gold in Team!!!

Le YOP Athletes Award, parrainé par PANAGORA MARKETING CO. LTD., est une cérémonie de remise de prix trimestrielle réservée aux athlètes âgés de 16 ans et plus qui ont réalisé des performances exceptionnelles au cours d’un mois donné.

 

Exceptionnellement, n’étant pas en mesure d’organiser cette cérémonie plus tôt, prit par l’organisation du National Sports Award 2019 en février 2020 dernier et par le confinement causé par la présence de la pandémie du COVID 19 sur notre territoire, cette cérémonie a récompensé les athlètes du mois de Novembre 2019, celui de Février et Mars 2020.

·       Pour le mois de Mars 2020 Mademoiselle Oumehani Tayyebah HOSENALLY – (vivant à l’étranger – elle a été représenté par le DTN Monsieur Cédric ROULEAU) Elle a participé au ITTF WORLD JUNIOR CIRCUIT CONGO DEMOCRATIC JUNIOR & CADET OPEN qui s’est tenu au CONGO Démocratique, dans la catégorie JUNIOR.10 pays prenaient part à ce tournoi ; avec 24 participants dans cette catégorie elle a remporté la médaille d’Argent en simple, l’Or en Double et l’Or en Equipe !!!

 

Fully conscious of the ecological threat caused by the oil spill from the MV Wakashio to the South East lagoons of our beloved country, as patriots, the Mauritius Sports Council and ACTIVE Mauritius have rallied to the solidarity movement towards this disaster.

We have spontaneously volunteered to participate actively to give all our support to the authorities in this state of National environmental emergency.

Together, we have witnessed that working for a common cause as ONE UNITY definitely, bring excellent results.

Pleinement conscients de la menace écologique causée par la marée noire du MV Wakashio aux lagons du sud-est de notre pays bien-aimé, en tant que patriotes, le Mauritius Sports Council et ACTIVE Mauritius se sont ralliés au mouvement de solidarité face à cette catastrophe.

Nous nous sommes spontanément portés volontaires pour participer activement afin d’apporter tout notre soutien aux autorités dans cet état d’urgence environnementale nationale. Nous avons été témoins que travailler pour une cause commune en tant qu’UNE UNITÉ donne définitivement d’excellents résultats
