The Mauritius Sports Council in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth Empowerment, Sports & Recreation and under the sponsorship of Panagora Marketing Co. Ltd organized the Talk on Yoplait/Candia Sports Medicine at Trois Boutiques Community Centre on Thursday 30^th July 2020  

The objectives of the talk are to make the participants aware of the benefits of Sports, proper physical activities, and a good nutrition for maintaining a healthy lifestyle. The Resource persons proceeded with the talks as follows:

• The Importance of Physical Activities presented by Dr. Bernard Baptiste.
• Good Nutrition was presented by Mr. Conrad Thomas

50 participants attended the talk.

Yoplait/Candia Pamphlets, Keyrings and Candia Milk were distributed to all participants. A quiz was held with questions related to the talk at the end of the programme. Four participants correctly answered the questions. They were offered a T-Shirt as gift

On July 3rd 2019 the Launching of Active Mauritius and one year later we celebrate the first anniversary at the same place where everything started at the Mauritius Sports Council seat. All the employees has celebrate the anniversary by participate in different sports activities for 2 hours.

It’s also mean that its a full year of sports activities delivered around the island from the program Move it, Youth on move, Ageing well and Elderly fitness. We have reached people from different age group and we want to get more people for the next year on our way to our second anniversary.

A workshop held at the conference of Cote D’Or complex  on Exercise Prescription where there were a meeting and networking between clinical champions and coaches. Exercise prescription is a program of Active Maurtius that touch all the categories.

24 doctors and 6 coaches were present and participate to the workshop.

DAILY PROGRAM

09 00 – Arrival of participants and registration (1^st day only) afterwards attendance.

09 15 – Briefing with Kids and preparation of field of play

09 30 – Assembling and grouping of kids according to age

09 45 – Start of sports camp [warming up, proceed with activities, cooling down]

10 45 – End of activities [Arranging all equipment, assemble all kids for a debriefing, Praise and thank them for their participation request them that to be on time the following day].

11 00 – End of sports camp
